Greenhouse

Passive-solar greenhouse.

Use the sun to heat only. Electricity only needed to open vents as the greenhouse will go over 100 degrees even in the winter. On a cloudy or snowy day it is more like 50-70 degrees. The greenhouse has never gone below freezing.

South side perfectly perpendicular in the middle of Winter to get the most sun.

Added a storage shed on North side to help insulate from cold.

Need small water bottles on North wall

Greenhouse floor has one foot of pea gravel compacted with 16″ cement tiles on top to hold heat in to go along with water bottles to hold heat for the nights.

Automate venting fans and electric heater for backup (never used so far). Connected to wireless weather station to monitor temperature inside home.

Ventilate to suck hot air out. Regulated by one of the thermostats.

Automated vents that open for cool air to be pulled in.
