Regenerative gardening is when you reuse resources and do not need to keep adding resources constantly. You can make swells of soil to retain water and future use too.

I have added compost and grass clippings for 5-8 years over my grass near my flagpole. I have never rototiller this area. Some utility work was being done in this area where they cut a couple feet down. I saw the soil was dark about 9-10 inches deep. Beautiful as can be. I use a hand trowel to work in this area. The soil is easy to work and again never tilled. It can be done!
